Dry Powder (ABC) Fire Extinguishers
Dry powder extinguishers are often called ABC extinguishers due to their ability to fight Class A, B and C fires. Although these extinguishers are great for multiple classes of fire, they should NOT be used in an enclosed space. This is because the powder can be easily inhaled and is extremely difficult to clean up,
ABC extinguishers are filled with a dry chemical agent. This chemical agent is often a mixture of ammonium sulphate and monoammonium phosphate. Unlike water, dry powder is not a conductor of electricity and so when it is applied to an electrical fire it will smother the fire without risking electrical shocks to the user.
All of our fire extinguishers are supplied with a wall bracket and are kitemark BS EN3 approved.
